Born in the boonies of Grangerland, Texas — a small town nestled between I-45 and Highway 59 about an hour outside of Houston — Big Chove earned his name the hard way. At 16, balling in the Texas summer heat, a friend called him out smelling like an anchovy. The name stuck: Anchovie became Chovie, then Chove.

When he moved to Austin 24 years ago and started rapping at around 300 lbs, Big Chove was a natural fit. Just like his name, he brings a unique flavor to all his music — staying true to his roots and influences, using his experiences to portray a side of life that some won't understand.
